Project Update: 06/30/2026

  • Construction is underway. Phases 1 and 2 are complete. Phase 3 removals are well underway.
  • Phase 3 includes the closure of 20th Street at 9th Avenue.
  • Access for SFSH and Avera Plaza 4 will need to come from 7th Avenue during Phase 3 of the project.
  • Work on the remainder of the project is expected to be completed in early November.

Emergency Services Access:
Emergency responders are advised to access the Avera Emergency Room from 7th Avenue for the duration of this phase of construction. Motorists are strongly encouraged to utilize 17th Street or 26th Street to access 7th Avenue.

Pedestrian Access:
Pedestrian routes will be signed, and Audible Information Devices (AIDs) will be provided to assist those navigating the detour.

Commuter Route Information

  • The intersection of 20th Street and 9th Avenue is closed.
  • 2-way traffic on 20th Street is OPEN for parking ramp access and Center for Family Medicine – access from Cliff Avenue
  • Access to SFSH and Plaza 4 will come from 7th Avenue
