This project is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 17. Work will begin at the intersection of 20th Street and Cliff Avenue and slowly work its way west as the project progresses.
Cliff Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Work at the intersection of 20th Street and Cliff Avenue is expected to be complete in late May. Work on the remainder of the project is expected to be completed in early November.
Traffic on 20th Street will be reduced to one-way westbound traffic only between Cliff Avenue and 9th Avenue for the first several phases of construction. This traffic pattern is expected to remain in place through late summer. As the project progresses west toward 7th Avenue, additional changes will be communicated.
Emergency Services Access: Emergency responders are advised to access the Avera Emergency Room from 7th Avenue for the duration of this phase of construction. Motorists are strongly encouraged to utilize 17th Street or 26th Street to access 7th Avenue.
Pedestrian Access: Pedestrian routes will be signed, and Audible Information Devices (AIDs) will be provided to assist those navigating the detour.
