Minnesota Avenue from 2nd Street to 8th Street Reconstruction

Project Update: 08/04/2026

• Contractor has completed the main line concrete paving between 2^nd Street and 4^th Street and is currently working on miscellaneous concrete work along this section.
• Utility work will continue with storm sewer and water main continuing on the east side of the road.
• The contractor will be moving to the east side of Minnesota Avenue between 4^th and 8^th Street to begin preparing the roadway for concrete surfacing

Commuter Route Information

• Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction along Minnesota Avenue from 2^nd Street to 8^th Street. Access to side streets within the construction zone is limited. No left turns are allowed through the work zone. 
• Please follow the project detours. Eastbound and westbound left turns are restricted due to the single-lane traffic.  Pedestrian detours are established to allow crossings at 8^th Street and Brookings Street.
