Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans Parkway Improvements

As winter is nearing its end, construction along the Veterans and Arrowhead Parkway corridor will begin soon. 

The contractor will begin with roadway grading for the northbound lanes of Veterans Parkway prior to the closing of Arrowhead Parkway east of Veterans Parkway.  The closure along Arrowhead Parkway east of Veterans Parkway will remove the temporary asphalt section that was placed last fall and replace it with new concrete pavement.  Once this work is completed, the east side of the intersection, including the northbound lanes of Veterans Parkway, will be open to traffic.

When the east side of the intersection opens, the west side of the intersection will be closed.  This will allow the contractor to finish the work on this side, with all lanes open to traffic at the end of the 2026 construction season.

Commuter Route Information

2026

• Arrowhead Parkway will close east of Veterans Parkway for about 5-6 weeks, first thing in the spring, to remove the temporary asphalt transition, construct the east lanes of Veterans Parkway, and connect to Arrowhead Parkway going east
• After the work east of Veterans is complete and reopened to traffic, Arrowhead Parkway will close west of Veterans Parkway and remain closed for the duration of the 2026 construction season
• Veterans Parkway will remain open to one lane of traffic in each direction throughout the 2026 construction season

2027

• Periodic lane closures may occur in the spring of 2027 as work is finalized and general site cleanup occurs.
