This project is anticipated to start in mid-May.

Commuter Route Information

  • Lane closures will be in place.  At a minimum, one lane of traffic will remain open in both directions at all times.  At most times throughout the project, two lanes of traffic will be open in both directions.

Project Milestones

12th Street Bridge Project phase 1

Phase 1 – eastbound and westbound outside single lanes closed

  1. Concrete bridge deck repair
  2. Polymer chip seal
  3. Replace the strip seal joint at the ends of the bridge
  4. Special surface finish
  5. Repair the retaining wall coping section
  6. Trim trees
  7. Replace the chain link fence

Phase 2 – eastbound and westbound inside lanes closed

  1. Concrete bridge deck repair
  2. Polymer chip seal
  3. Replace the strip seal joint at the ends of the bridge
  4. Install permanent pavement markings

Project Summary

This project consists of the preservation of the 12th Street bridge near Grange Avenue.  Work will include repairing delaminated concrete on the bridge deck, placing a two-coat bridge deck polymer chip seal, replacing the deteriorated strip seal joints on the approach slabs and sidewalk, repairing deteriorated special surface finish on the barrier curbs, trimming trees, replacing chain link fence, and repairing a retaining wall coping panel in the southeast corner of the bridge.
