For four weekends, dive into the holiday spirit of Downtown Sioux Falls. Whether you crave the mesmerizing glow of lights, holiday-themed programming for the family or the thrill of ice bumper cars, Winter Weekends presented by MarketBeat brings weekly themes to celebrate the time of year. 

Join us at the 10th Street Mural on Fridays from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 1 to 8 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. See the full schedule below for details!

What To Expect

Weather Permitting

Photo Ops: Capture the season at our photo scene featuring bright lights that will bring your holiday spirit alive!

Glice & Ice Bumper Cars: These round colorful tubes have wheels and their own motor which lets you glide around with ease! Their controls are like a video game. Choose to zoom around, smash into other cars in true bumper form, or spin in circles!

$10 for adults, $5 for children per 12-minute session. Free from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3.

Glice rink provided by the Boys and Girls Club of the Sioux Empire, First PREMIER Bank, and First PREMIER Bankcard.

Food and Drink: Enjoy a festive holiday drink—from beer to a cozy cup of hot cocoa. Food trucks from Black Iris Coffee and Chick-fil-A Empire Place will be available at select times during Winter Weekends. (Must be 21 or older to drink/order alcohol.)

Live Entertainment: Local musicians and performers will provide a festive environment. Programmed by the Washington Pavilion and sponsored by 334-RENT.

Santa: Mark your calendars and bring your holiday wish list for Mr. and Mrs. Claus from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3!

Friday, Nov. 24

LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: Heading downtown for the Parade of Lights? Stop by the 10th Street Mural before the parade for holiday music from Dakota Entertainment. Beverages available for purchase.

LIGHTING OF THE TREE – WASHINGTON PAVILION: Add the Washington Pavilion to your list of must-see holiday lights and decorations as Sioux Falls’ largest Christmas tree turns bright at 6:25 p.m. Watch the nightly light show at the corner of 11th Street and Main Avenue as the lights dance to holiday hits and fun jams. Enjoy fabulous photo opportunities and more.

PARADE OF LIGHTS: Join us for the 31st Annual Parade of Lights as we light up the city and welcome in the 2023 Holiday Season! The Parade of Lights has become a family tradition, attracting thousands who have reveled in the coming joy of the season. The parade begins at 7:30 p.m. Holiday floats with festive decorations and plenty of lights will line the streets of historic downtown for the public to enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays! The parade route runs on Phillips Ave. between 13th St. and 5th St.

Saturday, Nov. 25

Small Business Saturday | 1 to 5 p.m.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY EVENTS: While you’re out supporting Small Business Saturday and walking around downtown Sioux Falls, stop by for some fun! We will have free yard games such as bean bags, giant Jenga, and bocce ball available to play! In addition, we will have a free fall leaf craft and toddler obstacle course.

WASHINGTON PAVILION: Free admission to the Kirby Science Discovery Center and Visual Arts Center. SANTA: Experience the magic of the North Pole with a visit to Santa and Mrs. Claus. Take a moment to share your holiday wish list and create a special memory to last a lifetime! 

CANDY CANE HUNT: Kick off your Candy Cane Hunt at the 10th Street Mural for instructions and riddles to help you search your way through downtown. Candy canes will be scattered throughout downtown businesses. Once you solve the riddles and find the candy canes come back to the 10th Street Mural to visit Santa and collect a prize.  

GLICE & FREE ICE BUMPER CARS: Come down and enjoy FREE Ice Bumper Car rides provided by First PREMIER Bank and First PREMIER Bankcard.
