Introducing The Falls
Falls Park has long been a symbol of Sioux Falls. The area began as a place of vital resources for indigenous communities and later fueled Sioux Falls’ early industry with the power of its falls. Over time, industry gave way to neglect, but since the early 2000s, the City has been committed to restoring this space to its natural beauty
Now, we’re excited to announce the next chapter in its legacy: a bold, visionary plan over the next 50 years that will bring new life to the area. This Master Plan aims to make meaningful changes in the next few decades to create a signature regional park that attracts visitors from afar, while also being a beloved local destination. The master plan features topics like traffic circulation and safety, expanding recreational opportunities and all-season programming, water quality of the river, preserving history, enhancing the heart of the park.
It's time to rediscover The Falls—one mile, five parks—a vibrant, interconnected park system for us all.
