Arrowhead Parkway
The City of Sioux Falls and the SDDOT have been cooperatively working together to evaluate the needs of the Arrowhead Parkway from east of Sycamore Avenue to the Big Sioux River. This corridor reconstruction has been occurring in phases.
Project Milestones
- Phase 1 from Sycamore Avenue to Highline Avenue was completed in 2019.
- Phase 2A was the realignment of Arrowhead Parkway and Six Mile Road and reconstruction from 10th Street to nearly 26th Street and was completed in 2023.
- Phase 2B is the intersection reconstruction of Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans Parkway and is planned for construction in 2025-2026.
- Phase 3 is the reconstruction of Arrowhead Parkway from 26th Street to the Big Sioux River and is also planned for construction in 2025-2026.

All reconstruction and widening is needed due to traffic growth in the surrounding areas, safety needs, and pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure expansion.
The intersection of Arrowhead Parkway and Veterans Parkway will be reconstructed and widened over the next two years. This project will begin in spring of 2025 with completion anticipated by the end of 2026.
