Beginning on Thursday, September 11, 2025, the east leg of the intersection of Maple Street and Veterans Parkway will be closed for the installation of a sanitary sewer casing pipe under Maple Street.

City’s Citizen Planning Academy Registration Now Open

The City of Sioux Falls is hosting its annual Citizen Planning Academy in October, and registration is now open. Citizen Planning Academy is a program hosted by the City’s Planning and Development Services team that offers an opportunity for Sioux Falls residents to learn about city planning and development and how to engage effectively in neighborhood planning efforts.

Street Closure – Cherry Lake Avenue

Beginning on Monday, September 8, 2025, Cherry Lake Avenue will be closed at the intersection of West 12th Street (Highway 42) to allow crews to install water main. Motorists are encouraged to use Dockside Drive off Ellis Road or Lakeside Drive off 12th Street (Highway 42) to access the adjacent neighborhood. Traffic on 12th Street will not be impacted.
