Lane Closures – 41st Street Bridge

Beginning on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, lanes will be closed on the West 41st Street Bridge over the Big Sioux River to allow for bridge preservation work.

Lane closures will alternate to complete the work, but traffic will be maintained in both directions at all times.

Weather permitting, work is expected to be completed in two weeks.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

 

Street Closure - North Ditch Road

Beginning on Monday, October 6, 2025, North Ditch Road will be closed between 60th Street North and 72nd Street North to allow crews to install a water main.

This work is expected to be completed in about one week.

Motorists should utilize 72nd Street North, Cliff Avenue, and 60th Street North as an alternate route. 

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduced speeds while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

 

Sidewalk Closure –13th Street and South Phillips Avenue

Beginning on Monday October 6, 2025, the sidewalk on the north side of the intersection of 13th Street and South Phillips Avenue will be closed to allow crews to perform accessible curb ramp repairs. Pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone. The vehicle parking lane adjacent to the work zone will also be closed to traffic.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed in approximately two weeks.

Sidewalk Closure – 12th Street and South Phillips Avenue

Beginning on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, portions of the sidewalk and passenger drop off area on the east side of the intersection of 12th Street and South Phillips Avenue will be closed to allow crews to perform curb repairs. Pedestrians will be detoured around the work zone.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed within a few days.

Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while travelling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.

 

Lane Closures – South Phillips Avenue & West 11th Street

Beginning at 8:00 AM on Monday, October 6, 2025, intermittent lane closures will be set up on 11th Street between Main Avenue and Phillips Avenue and on Phillips Avenue between 10th Street and 12th Street. Individual lane closures are planned to be in place for approximately 2-3 hours each.

The lane closures are needed to install upgraded colored pavement markings to replace the existing white stop bars at the intersection of 11th Street and Phillips Avenue.  The new markings are being installed as part of a Creative Intersections Project funded through the City’s Neighborhood Association Grant program on behalf of the Downtown Neighborhood Association.

This work is expected to be completed and traffic control removed by the end of the same day.
