The Sioux Falls Regional Landfill serves Sioux Falls and the five-county region of Lake, Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner counties.

Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted forms of payment at the landfill.
Notice: Effective January 5, 2026, a card service fee will apply to all payments made with a credit or debit card.

By City of Sioux Falls Code of Ordinance section 57.050, the following materials are banned from going into the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill:
- Office paper
- Corrugated cardboard and chip board
- Plastic containers #1 and #2
- Metal containers
- Automobile bodies or other bulky articles
- Wood waste, such as tree branches and logs
- Oils, gasoline, and other petroleum products
- Hazardous materials
- Hazardous waste
- Yard waste
- Lead acid batteries
- Waste tires
- White good appliances
- Regulated medical waste
- Radioactive materials
- Large and hand-held electronics
- Magazines
- Newspaper
- Bulk-rate mail
