Street Tree Voucher

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation wants to help you plant a tree. If you have room in the public right-of-way adjacent to your property, apply for a planting permit and receive a $100 voucher for each approved tree. Spring and Fall are ideal times to plant a new tree in Sioux Falls.

How it Works

First, you need to apply for a street tree planting permit. Vouchers are only issued to approved planting sites through the permit.

Approved planting sites must meet all street tree planting regulations.

If your permit is approved:

• SFPR will send a signed planting permit and street tree voucher to the resident.
• If your email was provided on your application, your approved permit and voucher will be sent to that email address.
• Take your approved permit and street tree voucher to a participating retailer to receive a discount on the purchase of approved street trees.

If your permit is denied:

• A letter or email explaining why will be sent to the resident.
